Sascha Stylianou was born in Durban, Kwa-Zulu, Natal, South Africa in 1972. Sascha grew up immersed in art, groomed from an early age, by his mother, Juliet, an art teacher of 35 years, whose students still approach Sascha to share their excellent experiences of her as a teacher. Sascha started out professionally in the backdrop industry and from there moved into T.V. ads, movies and music videos, and through out developing himself as a fine artist in traditional realism. In 2000 Sascha began travelling; he has lived in India, Nepal, Thailand, France, Australia and Venezuela. Upon returning to South Africa, Sascha set up a commercial arts company building it from the ground up with his partner, Tashi Stylianou. Together they have accomplished an impressive portfolio of work in the corporate and private arenas. In more recent years, their work has been featured in VISI Magazine, MTV Base, Bakos Brothers, Big Blue, Stones Franchise, Stark Studio (home of Binnelanders) and throughout the shops, restaurants and residences of Melville and greater Johannesburg. Sascha and Tashi enjoy working in and developing the fields of fine art, corporate art, interior paint effects, automotive customs, live performance spraying, airbrush body painting, events backdrops, scenic art for ads/TV/movies, murals, antiquing and sculpture. Sascha and Tashi stay abreast of trends, past, present and future in all aspects of popular culture. They have a keen interest in researching exhibition topics with the aim of benefitting our charities and breathing life into our own history as South Africans, to bring forth the rich endowment of culture and heritage that are the Citizens of Our Rainbow Nation.
